Welcome to Crosswords ("we", "our", "us"), an English crossword puzzle game. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using our mobile application and website (the "Service").

2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information (optional, volunteers/admins only): Email address, display name, and password when you register as a volunteer or admin to create puzzles.
- Puzzle Submissions: Crossword content (clues, answers, grid layout, images) submitted by registered volunteers.
- Payment Information: When you purchase coins, payment details are processed by PayU. We do not store your card numbers, CVV, or banking credentials on our servers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, language settings.
- Usage Data: Puzzles played, completion status, hints used, coin balance, like history.
- Advertising Identifiers: Used by Google AdMob to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
- Crash & Performance Data: Anonymous diagnostic logs to fix bugs and improve stability.
2.3 Locally Stored Information
The following are stored only on your device (using browser localStorage / app storage), not on our servers:
- Coin balance and game progress (for guest players)
- Puzzles you have liked
- In-progress puzzle answers
- Review prompt preferences
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the puzzle game.
- Authenticate volunteer and admin accounts.
- Process coin purchases via PayU.
- Display ads (banner & rewarded video) via Google AdMob.
- Track puzzle completion and reward coins.
- Improve game features, fix bugs, and develop new puzzles.
- Communicate important service updates.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
Crosswords integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

5. Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display banner ads and rewarded video ads. AdMob may use advertising identifiers to serve personalized ads based on your interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising:

- Reset your Advertising ID at any time from device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Crosswords is suitable for all ages, including children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at apps.rvarga.tech@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
For child users, we ensure that:
- Ads served are family-safe (configured in AdMob).
- Account creation is restricted to adult volunteers/admins.
- Guest play does not require any personal data.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Row-Level Security (RLS) on all database tables.
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission.
- Hashed and salted password storage via Supabase Auth.
- Role-based access control (admin / volunteer / guest).
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
- Account data: Retained as long as your volunteer/admin account is active.
- Puzzle submissions: Retained indefinitely as part of the puzzle archive.
- Local game progress: Stored on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
How to Delete Your Account
To request account deletion or data removal, email apps.rvarga.tech@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Opt out of personalized advertising.
- Withdraw consent for data processing.
